Who is/are your favorite underrated player(s) in NBA history?

One at the top of my list has to be Sidney Moncrief, a great ballplayer (80's era) most kids today have never even heard of...Sid was a 6'4" guard who shot better than 50% from the floor and 83% from the line in an 11 yr career for the Milwaukee Bucks..

He averaged around 16 points and 5 rebounds a game and had a 2:1 turnover/assist ratio...he was also a 2-time NBA defensive player of the year and was greatly respected by Michael Jordan for the tenacity he played with every game, all game long...He was a complete player who played the game the right way...I think Moncrief would not have been so underrated had he not played in such a small market city...Your choices?

I think the best underrated player in NBA history is Michael Cooper. He played on the Lakers in the late 70's and early 80's and he was one of the greatest defensive players of all time. The Lakers wouldn't have won nearly as many championships in its "Showtime" Era if it weren't for Cooper's defensive ability and quickness and he clutch scoring ability.

Sura played high school at G.A.R. Memorial in Wilkes-Barre. He had a high game of 68 while leading G.A.R. to a remarkable streak of 86 consecutive league victories. After high school, Sura played basketball for Florida State University, playing on the same team as fellow NBA players Charlie Ward and Sam Cassell.

Sura was drafted 17th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1995 NBA Draft. His best season with the Cavaliers was his last, averaging 13.8 points per game during the 1999-2000 season. He was then traded to the Golden State Warriors, and has also played for the Detroit Pistons, the Atlanta Hawks and the Houston Rockets.

With the Hawks, he gained attention by almost posting three straight triple-double games (the "third" was subsequently taken away from him by the league) (still is 3 straight triple double). With the Rockets, Sura was considered by many analysts to be a key to their regular season success until he suffered an injury. (attn not ur selfish one TRACY McGREEDY)

Sura has competed in the 3-point tournament during the All-Star Weekend, as well as the Slam Dunk competition. Sura's career averages include 8.6 points per game. In the 2004-2005 season, his last season due to injury, he averaged 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists.

Sura's Florida State jersey was retired in 2007, where he is the school's all time leading scorer.
i'm a warriors fan myself... in the early 90's sarunus marcilounis (sorry for butchering his last name) was a 20 pt. scorer off of the bench filling in at three allstars positions (hardaway, richmond, and mullin)

also, even though he had his ups and downs when latrell spreewell was teamed with chris webber he was not only underrated but he was unapreciated i think

JoJo White. He led the Celtics for a championship in 1976 but i think he was underrated because of the presence of the great John Havlicek and Dave Cowens. According to many basketball purists, he and Jerry West are the best pure shooters ever played the game.
Chris Mullin was very underrated as a player, Mark Price as well was underrated, and Byron Scott.

Moncrief was a great player, underrated, but not as underrated as some. Greg Anthony was a great defender who should have gotten more playing time just for his defense.
